First off you need a subject. To have a subject you need a location. The location can be in your backyard or somewhere your on vacation at. After deciding a location than you need to decide your subject. If your in Niagra Falls than its obvious you can take pictures of the falls but what about your backyard? You can set up a bird feeder and take closeups of the birds you see or you could plant a flower garden. If you choose to have a garden if you already don't have one than you have endless possibilities. I prefer taking pictures of things in nature but you could also take pictures of the city. Maybe the biggest building or even the smallest. You could go to a museum of some sort of an exhibit and find lots of photo opportunities. If none of these ideas suit you than you don't even have to leave your house. You might be thinking "what, out of the ordinary can I take a picture of from inside my house?" The answer is, "it doesn't have to be out of the ordinary just the way you do it does." For example take a picture of your computer that your reading this from but from the floors perspective.
Once you have decided what to take a picture of you have to take it right. If its a close up than don't use a flash because it will come out all washed out. If you are using your zoom or if it is very dark than it is important that you use a tripod or it will come out blurry. If have a nice camera than it should have special settings for things like animals night scenes or close up. If your camera has these setting than you need to take advantage of them and put them to work for you. If your camera doesn't than your going to have to manually adjust your camera or just buy a new camera. When taking pictures it is important to take very many of them so if one isn't right there will be many others to choose from.
Once you have all of your pictures than you need to transfer them to your computer. Once on your computer you need to crop them and make any other adjustments as necessary.
Now that you have done all that work what can you do? If you have a photo printer than you print them and frame them but a better idea is choosing a favorite and then have it professionally printed, framed and matted. Then, you can hang it on your wall for all of your friends and family (and yourself) to be proud of.
There is also online programs such as shutter stock that will pay you for every time one of your photo's that you uploaded is downloaded by a publisher.
In conclusion photography is a very rewarding hobby that many people can and do, enjoy.
