A Guide to the Top Hotels and Lodging in Soho, New York

Jack Rella
Soho, which is an acronym for 'South of Houston' - meaning Houston Street - is an area in New York City that is well known as haven for artists. This neighborhood in lower Manhattan is filled with warehouses and cobblestone streets that date from the 1850s. It was known for the companies that produced and housed fabric, china, glass, and other items for companies like Lord & Taylor and Tiffany's on the upper floors. The lower floors were filled with displays that were eventually taken over by art galleries. The area fell in disrepair in the late 1900s before becoming renewed by the artists who took over the warehouses and turned them into loft apartments. The area is rich with artisans and there are many hotels in the neighborhood that cater to tourists and businesspersons who stay in the city. Here are some of the best hotels to be found in Soho if you ever decide to visit the area.
