You have two options when it comes to selling your poetry. You can either create an account with a company that will sell your book as people purchase the book or you can sign up with a publishing company and for a large price, they will market and create your book for you. Some of these companies will charge around $400 to publish and market you book but you will know that you own all rights to your book and your poems. At least then you are secure. If you go through companies which create your book for you, you will want to make sure that you own the rights to it.
Some companies you can sign up for and you never pay any fees. You simply create an account and design the book online. You choose all of the options from the number of pages to what the book looks like. Then, they will market the book for you at Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble. When somebody wants to publish your book, the company will create the book and send it to the customer. You will receive a certain amount from the book and the company will receive a small amount of that price. It's a good way to sell your poetry without paying huge publishing fees upfront.
You will first want to create several good poems. You will want to submit them into contests. You will want to contact different companies to see if you can get paid from your poetry and use it for greeting cards and different card companies. You will want to send your poetry to different magazine companies. You can create an account and sell your book of poems through a website which creates the books as you sell them. You can pay a publishing fee and get your book marketed at different stores online. You can purchase your own book and use it for a reference when you promote your book.
