Pull yourself off that couch and get out and enjoy musical and other festivities that embody this time of year:

For the unique, check out the Czech Kolache Klobase Festival complete with arts and crafts, kolaches, music, dancing, home-cooked food, cake walk, kid games, and family fun in East Bernard, TX June 12. Estimated attendees is 2,000 and more information may be obtained by calling (979) 335-7907.

June 18-20 German natives will appreciate the Boerne Berges Fest in downtown Boerne, Texas. It celebrates the heritage in the state's Hill Country.

Are you a chili addict? Meals on Wheels of Palo Pinto County will have their Chili Cook-off July 10 in Mineral Wells, TX benefiting the organization and music and vendors will be part of the event held at 1550 Milsap Highway.

The Indigo Girls perform tonight at the annual Kerrville, Texas Folk Festival being held through June 13. Since 1972, people have come out to enjoy the longest running event of its type in North America, according to gotexas.about.com. Taking place on Quiet Valley Ranch 50 acres nine miles south of the town on Highway 16, it lasts 18 days.

Over in Lewisville, TX the Sounds of Lewisville Summer Concert Series kicks off June 1 and goes through July 6 with dates of June 8, 15, 22, 29 only. The address is Old Town Lewisville at Main and Church Streets. Showcasing Big Band, Blues, Cajun, Christian, Folk, Jazz, Latin Pop, and R & B among others, this event has something for everyone's musical tastes. Every year thousands gather under the summer stars to enjoy some of the area's best bands at the free series.

And don't miss the Alley Fest June 4-6 in Longview, Texas at One Hundred Acres of Heritage 410 N. Center Street. Blues, Pop, R & B, and Rock are the specialties and a street dance is included at the signature event in downtown.

June 5 is the Northeast Texas Music Festival and Rockabilly fans will love it at the City Park in Winnsboro, TX. Activities include a barbecue contest, arts and crafts, vendors, and more. Music takes place in the afternoons and evenings with live performances from the best of musicians who are nationally recognized artists.
