A Guide to Visiting Alton Towers Resort in England

Alton Towers is a huge theme park based in Staffordshire in England. It is one of the most famous theme parks today in England. Many visitors stay at the Alton Towers Hotel for the weekend just to visit this enormous theme park.

Alton Towers was first opened in 1980. The first roller coaster at Alton Towers was the Corkscrew. Today there are many thrilling rides to enjoy for everyone. Families and groups of friends usually visit this park during the summer for a short break or even for just a day.

What is there to See and Do at Alton Towers Resort?

There are many thrilling rides at Alton Towers. The roller coasters are exciting and fast. There are boat rides and shows throughout the day with lots of different characters to entertain children. There is underwater adventure with Captain Black in Sharkbait Reef by Sea Life aquarium, which is very enjoyable. In Cloud Cuckoo Land there is some fantastic live entertainment. Alton Towers has some great eating areas too with a good selection of different types of restaurants and food outlets.

There is, also, the Cariba Creek Waterpark at Alton Towers, which is right next to the theme park. This is an indoor Caribbean lagoon type waterpark giving lots of excitement and splashes of fun. There are water rides, water slides, lazy rivers and the fantastic Master Blaster roller coaster, which is a thrill to ride on. There is, also, an outside hot tub too. The towels at this waterpark are free, so you do not have to bring your own.

This is the perfect summer short break to take for anyone by combining Alton Towers theme park with the waterpark. If staying for a weekend, then there is the Alton Towers Hotel that has some great themed family rooms.

How to Get to Alton Towers Resort

Alton Towers is in Staffordshire and can be reached by car via the M1 motorway. Trains to Uttoxeter station or Stoke-on-Trent station will take you to Alton Towers Resort. There are regular bus services from these train stations to the resort area.

Tickets for Alton Towers Resort

Tickets can be booked online at the Alton Towers website . The price for one adult is £31.68 for 12 years and over. The price for children aged 4 to 11 years old is £24.48 per person. Most families who do not live nearby the theme park stay at Alton Towers Hotel for the night, which costs from £152 per night for a family themed room. A package deal can be purchased with tickets included.

Tickets for the Cariba Creek Waterpark can, also, be booked online at the Alton Towers website . Tickets need to be booked in advance before arriving there. Either book them online or if staying at a hotel, then book them from at reception. Children under 4 years old are free. Adults are £14 per person for 12 years and over. Children are £10 per person for ages 4 to 11 years old.

Opening Times for Alton Towers Resort

Alton Towers theme park is not open all year round. It opens from March to the end of October every year. The Alton Towers Hotel is open all year round. The Cariba Creek Waterpark is open all year round too. The theme park opens from 10 am to 6 pm in low season and in August it is opened until 7 pm. The waterpark is open from 10 am to 6 pm in low season and in summer season it is open from 10 am to 9 pm.

So, if you live in the United Kingdom or are considering taking a vacation this year, then why not visit Alton Towers Resort for a short break and stay at the Alton Towers Hotel.
