A Guide to Visiting Disneyland Paris This Christmas

Denise Larkin
Disneyland Paris is a great place to visit during the Christmas holidays with family or friends. The fun starts this year from the 8th November to 6th January 2011. There will be lots of excitement in Disneyland Paris with many special shows, parades and rides to enjoy for everyone.

Already, the tallest Christmas tree you have ever seen is standing and the lights on it brighten up the whole area. It is a splendid sight to look at as you pass this area or stop to take those family pictures in front of the enormous tree. This Christmas there are many things to look forward to if you are thinking of visiting Disneyland Paris. I have been there at Christmas time with my family and it is the perfect place to visit with the children. Everyone will have lots of fun watching shows, going on rides, watching the parades and seeing Santa Claus.

Here are a few things going on this year:

Christmas Parades - There is the Once Upon a Dream parade and following that is the Dreams of Christmas parade to enjoy. Watch all your favorite characters and Santa Claus sitting upon a huge sleigh, as they parade along past you singing and dancing. The many Disney characters brightly dressed up and parading the area of Disneyland are a joyous thing to see, especially if it is your first time at this wonderful place. The Light parade, also, follows on from this, which should not to be missed. Characters pass by with costumes that are lit up like Christmas trees.

Sleeping Beauty's Castle - Visit Sleeping Beauty's castle when you are in Disneyland Paris, as it will become decorated with ice everywhere inside, transforming it into an ice palace. It is amazing to look at.

The Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony - Each evening just before the sun goes down, meet Mickey, Minnie and all the Disney characters at the foot of the tree where the Christmas tree lighting ceremony will begin. A child will also be invited to open the Magic Christmas book. It is a great show with lots of entertainment, as Mickey Mouse shows off his great lighting techniques by lighting up the Sleeping Beauty castle!

Merry Christmas Dinner - Have a Merry Christmas dinner with Santa Claus, his elves and all the famous Disney characters. Once you are in Disneyland Paris, this dinner can be booked from your hotel. It is a great way to see all your favorite Christmas characters whilst having dinner. They will entertain you whilst you eat with lots of dancing and singing. This is a fun evening out!

Meet Santa Claus - All children can get to meet Santa Claus in the toy workshop. This is a great place to take your child and get a picture taken with Santa Claus.

Christmas Shows - There is the Christmas show that Mickey Mouse and friends put on for everyone that stars Santa Claus and his elves. All shows are very entertaining and free to watch in the Disney park.

Christmas Disneyland Market - This market takes place in the Disney Village from 12th December to 2nd January 2011. Buy Christmas gifts for everyone here and enjoy the festive market whilst in Disneyland Paris.

A New Year's Eve Party - On the 31st December in Disneyland Paris there will be a fun party for everyone to join in. On the stroke of midnight, there will be a firework display that will light up the sky with lots of fantastic entertainment to enjoy.

How to Get to Disneyland Paris

If you live in the United Kingdom, then it is easy to travel to Disneyland Paris. Either travel by car using the Euro Tunnel or just hop on the Eurostar train that will take you right into Disneyland Paris. From London Waterloo it takes about two hours on the Eurostar train. You can also fly there, which takes fifty minutes, but the Eurostar and Euro Tunnel have become the most popular way to travel to Disneyland Paris these days.

Visiting Disneyland Paris is great fun for anyone during the Christmas holidays, so why not start planning your trip today!
