A Hair Affair Salon & Supply is unique and diverse, and serves all ages, and all races. This multicultural, unisex hair salon and barber shop is definitely a "one stop shop" for the entire family. And, they specialize in ethnic and curly hair types.
Owner Quanette Vasser attended the adult cosmetology program at Cape May County Technical High School and graduated in 1997. She immediately acquired a position at a local hair salon, where she stayed for seven years. During that same time, she also attended and completed various continuing education classes and workshops.
In 1998 Quanette was chosen as a member of an international design team for Pivot Point International School of Hair Design, where she spent several years traveling the country to various hair shows as an educator with the design team. In 2003 her dream became a reality with the opening of her first salon in Villas.
With the success of that business, Quanette was able to take advantage of an opportunity to expand and add a second shop in Woodbine, New Jersey, when the Woodbine Wellness Center moved to a new building, and renovations provided space for a beauty salon. "It's a unique and exciting experience to be located in the Woodbine Wellness Center, where several businesses are brought together, each independently-owned by women," Quanette explains. In addition to A Hair Affair Salon, the Woodbine Wellness Center also offers psychotherapy, nutrition and massage therapy services.
"Woodbine is a tight knit community and has been experiencing tremendous growth," notes Quanette, "which is why I knew it was a tremendous opportunity to open a second location right on the main street."
Quanette credits her ambition and desire to be an entrepreneur to her grandfather, Jack Vasser, a past mayor of West Cape May, New Jersey. Mayor Vasser ran not only his own refuse company, but the family farm as well.
A Hair Affair offers a very wide variety of hair care and related services including manicures, facials and skin care, hair highlighting, barbering, waxing, braiding, weaving, corn rows, twisties, relaxers, perms, coloring, crimps, wigs, thermal hair- straightening and more.
