A Halloween Night Remembered In Poem
By Debbie's Daily Doses

Dressed in disguise
as we run through the neighborhood
Filling our bags
with things that are so good

The Moon up above
follows along,
A dim light
on a dark night
what could go wrong?

We scream and we giggle
pointing out the next house light
The best candy in town
I got two
Okay
All Right!

The night air is cooling
as we dash across lawns
wishing we could keep up
This fun until dawn

Our bags are bursting
weighted down with our loot
we're a motley crew
In our halloween suits

But all good things
must come to an end
One more house awaits us
around the next bend

As we run up the walk
we were met with a sight
the decorations so real
I felt the first hint of fright

We almost made it
to the door all the way
When the lights went out
and We heard a scary voice say

"Come on in if you dare! "
said the voice at the door
we scattered like a bag of marbles
dumped on the floor

Screaming in fear
we ran in every direction
When we Stopped, out of breath
We said wow! wasn't that fun.

It would have been
The perfect Halloween Night
If i didn't lose so much candy
Running away in fright.

When we Trick or Treat
next year
on Halloween Night,
I'm remembering to bring
my own
flashlight.
