They were visitors from the bowels of the earth, limping, dancing and dragging their undead bodies across the pavement. They were Zombies and they came bearing food. Okay, they weren't really Zombies. They were actually costumed participants in Northern Kentucky Zombie Walk 2010 and they brought canned goods for the Freestore Foodbank in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Northern Kentucky Zombie Walk 2010 - Zombie's From all Walks of Life

The gathering of the undead began just after 6:00 PM at the Florence Center, a strip mall in Florence, Kentucky. Zombies showed up fully dressed in shredded and worn outfits from shorts to wedding gowns. They carried baseball bats, musical instruments and severed limbs. They sported popped-out eyeballs and blood drenched faces. The Northern Kentucky Zombies were a spectacle indeed, about as close as you could find to the real thing.

There were zombies from all walks of life: zombie newlyweds, zombie jazz musicians and zombie baseball players. There was even a pair of zombie ponies and a giant zombie cookie. Forest "the Zombie Human Puppet" Thomer was there, as well. He's still dedicated to his quest to dance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. Before he set out on the Zombie Walk, he staged the worlds largest Zombie Ellen Dance.

The Zombies assembled behind the Florence Toys R Us. After their Zombie Ellen Dance, they set off on a trek through the Florence Center Shopping Plaza. As was typical for undead beings, they growled and moaned with each step. They were mostly well behaved zombies, but some got carried away and scared a few people when they tapped on a store window or two. That brought out a the local police, who quickly realized the zombies were a harmless bunch.

Northern Kentucky Zombie Walk Sponsored by "Revelation Trail"

Above and beyond a fun night of Zombies walking through a Florence strip mall, there's a whole lot more to the story. The Northern Kentucky Zombie Walk was organized by Courtne Scudder and sponsored by Living End Production's "Revelation Trail." The movie project is described by their website as "a collaboration of filmmakers, artists and web talent from across the country." "Revelation Trail" is the story of the 19th century rising of undead in America.

"Revelation Trail" filming is taking place in Western Kentucky and Southern Illinois and will be ongoing through Summer 2011. Living End Productions also anticipates a full range of related "Revelation Trail" media products, including "graphic novel tie-ins, multiple movies and video games."

The Revelation Trail Movie trailer was filmed in Copper Canyon Ranch, a period constructed and furnished Western town located in Western Kentucky near Hopkinsville.

As yet there is no scheduled release date for "Revelation Trail."
