A Haunting in Connecticut and The Last House on the Left: In Theaters This Weekend

This movie weekend looks pretty good. The one thing I do hate about going to the movies is the ridiculous price of everything. It honestly makes me want to wait for everything to come on video. But, sometimes it is nice to go out and see a good movie. It's just that, when you know it's going to be a minimum of about $50 for 2 adults to go to the movie and have a nice time in your average metropolitan area; chances are; you'd just choose to go the the neighborhood bar or club. Your money could go a lot further there. But, I don't know if my complaining will change much in the movie theater pricing world.

Anyway; I am impressed with the movies out now though. From watching the trailers; I am excited to see a few. There look to be two good horror movies out now, "A Haunting in Connecticut, " and "The Last House on the Left."

"The Last House on the Left," is said to be associated with someone who was a part of the original "Halloween." movie. This is exciting. The main reason I loved "Halloween," so much was that it was made on a shoestring budget; yet was still very scary. It was an intelligent idea and it worked out very well. "The Blair Witch Project," would've been the same if they hadn't told everyone it wasn't real before we got a chance to see the movie. 3 days after it came out; I found out it was fake.

"The Last House on the Left," is about 2 parents that have the opportunity to avenge their daughter's death or vicious attack. Somehow the attackers that hurt their daughter wind up at their vacation house and the story continues for the rest of the movie in that small incubator. It's an interesting concept; so it might be very good.

"A Haunting in Connecticut," is based on a true story. From the previews it looks very scary and creepy. I liked the special effects that I saw. Basically, a family moves into a new house and scary events begin to happen. Upon further investigation they discover that the house used to be a mortuary and had a very dark history.

Of all movies worth seeing in the theaters I think horror movies are of the best genre to see on the big screen. You can get the full view of the special effects and everything. So if you've decided to spend the cash; I would think one of these movies would be a good bet for a weekend viewing at the movies.
