A Healthy Idea for a Burger

Does a Burger Have to Have Beef for it to Be Good?

I have nothing against eating meat. I like meat. I do have a friend that does not like to eat red meat and that is how I started to make this burger. I actually will eat one myself every now and then. What I like to do is use a meat base but add a couple veggies and some marinade to it to bring out the taste.

Here are the ingredients that you need in order to make my alternate burger.

1.) A three pound mixture of 50% ground turkey and 50% ground chicken mix

2.) one raw onion finely diced

3.) one bell pepper finely diced

4.) ½ cup of Dale's Steak Sauce

5.) ¼ cup of A1 Steak Sauce

6.) Enough rolls for the amount of hamburgers that you are going to make

7.) Sliced cheese. I often use American. Cheddar is also popular.

First slice or dice all of the vegetables up and set aside in a bowl after mixing them together. Next you want to fold vegetables into the raw hamburger. After this you will mix in the A1 Steak Sauce. Begin to then pat into patties. I actually use a manual hamburger press. Typically you will be able to get 9-12 hamburgers out of the three pounds. You want to marinade the burgers in the Dale's Sauce for at least a half hour.

I like to cook mine on the BBQ. I use a gas grill when I cook burgers. Since these are essentially just a light version of a burger I use a gas grill for these as well. What I do is wrap the burgers in tin foil and cook them for ten minutes per side then unwrap then and cook for about four minutes on each side or until done. When burgers reach the desired doneness melt the cheese on each burger and then top them as desired and enjoy.
