A Healthy Liver: Steps for Detox and Triage

Avoid Liver Disorder with These Steps

Deborah Oakes, NPS
A healthy liver is a key to health because of its multiple functions, including detox. With liver disorder, there isn't much chance of regaining health unless drastic steps are taken. However, the liver can regenerate itself under the right circumstances and is the only organ that can do so.

Maintain a healthy liver or regenerate it with the following steps. The first 2 steps, along with skin-brushing, are used for liver support. The last 4 steps are triage for liver disorders.

1) Every morning, drink a warm cup of water with ½ fresh-squeezed lemon juice which helps with liver detoxification and cuts mucous. Add sweetener if needed.

2) LiverCare® is known to regenerate the liver and is taken for liver support even if there are no health challenges.

3) Medium chain fatty acids from virgin coconut oil help fight free radicals before they damage the liver and consumption of VCO helps revive diseased tissue. Take 1 tablespoon twice per day. It's good in a cup of hot chocolate or on toast.

4) For liver detoxification, sleep with a castor oil pack. Use pure castor oil from a health food store, like Edgar Cayce's Palma de Christa castor oil. Take a white towel (flannel is best), pour castor oil on it, place over liver, then a sheet of plastic wrap and then a hot pad.

The pack helps with liver detoxification. The towel can be re-used without washing but don't use on anyone else. Store in plastic bag in refrigerator when not in use, lasts about 6 months.

5) Apply essential oils to liver, then apply a damp towel with a dry towel on top for about 20 minutes several times per day.

Geranium helps dilate biliary ducts for liver detoxification
Rosemary decongests liver
Chamomile helps the liver discharge poisons and cleanses blood
Fennel supports and is a tonic for liver functions
Blue Tansy helps liver cleansing
Helichrysum helps with anger, the emotion associated with the liver

6) Massage reflexology points on feet and hands with or without essential oils twice per day or more depending on health.

Pollution of food, air, water and land is becoming more prevalent every year. The liver is over-worked because we use 2.2 billion pounds of pesticides, factories spew 3 million tons of toxic chemicals, we eat 145 lbs. of food additives and take prescriptions that build up in the liver, every year. It's important to take care of it and these steps help maintain a healthy liver.
