Who says a mini van can't be high tech cool and plenty comfy, too? Arguably nobody who has driven the Infiniti EX35. Though technically a crossover vehicle, it boasts the space of a more traditional minivan with the safety features and modern extras of a sports car.
Check out the Around View Monitor that beams images of what's around the sides, back and front of the car onto a dash monitor. This 360-degree view from four cameras is just one of the many safety features that aren't readily available on most vehicles.
Another EX35 feature is the Lane Departure Prevention System that chimes softly when a sway is felt and then automatically applies light braking to prevent the car from moving into another lane. It's a smart system too, so it senses the turn signal and doesn't correct the car's movement when the signal on.
The car's technology also lets you rock out and stay in touch like a rock star with a Bluetooth Hands-Free Phone System, XM Satellite Radio, Intelligence Cruise Control, and a 6 CD in-dash changer and iPod connectivity. And that's just for starters.
Not only is the EX35 brainy but it's a beauty too. The wave design has sleek lines often found in sporty cars built for speed. The long hood, double-arch grille, large L-shaped headlights, and coupe-like roofline that arch over the windows add to the sporty look. Add scratch resistant "self-healing" paint to that and you have peace of mind when the kids pile in and out, too.
Speaking of kids, there's plenty of room for their stuff both inside the roomy cabin and via the optional roof rails. Some of the storage spaces include the front-covered lower console storage, front and rear door mounted storage, seatback pockets, overhead console storage and more.
Inside, the "wave" continues on the extra elegant instrument panel that has white-and-violet illumination.
And when you're feeling achy after a day running errands, you'll enjoy the 8-way power driver's seat with 2-way manual lumbar support. That driver's seat and a 4-way power passenger's seat are standard. The EX35 is priced at about $36,000 but it gives you plenty of space, power and extras for the money.
