A History of the Green Bay Packers 2008 Draft Picks

Steve Helmer
Now that the Green Bay Packers have been awarded an additional 4th round pick in this month's NFL draft, they will enter the draft with 8 overall selections. This, of course, will likely change if general manager Ted Thompson continues his annual tradition of trading down; but, in the mean time, we have a clearer picture of where the team will be picking players to add depth to an already talented roster.

Including the additional 4th round compensatory pick, the Packers hold the 30th, 56th, 60th, 91st, 128th, 135th, 162nd and 237th overall selections. While some will probably spend a great deal of time talking about which players the team will take at those positions, today I'm going to look a bit back in history and look at the last five players taken at those spots in addition to any recognizable names.

The names are in order of most recent to least recent. Any players selected by the Packers are in bold.

30th overall pick (1st round) - Craig Davis, Joseph Addai, Heath Miller, Kevin Jones and Sammy Davis.
