Improving one's diet is the first step. With today's society in such a rush, it isn't a wonder why fast food restaurants do so well financially. Everyone eats on the run at some point in time. Some people eat on the run day after day. This needs to stop. The nutritional value of fast food is null. There is none. Actually, most fast food choices are high in sodium, high in cholesterol, high in carbohydrates, high in fat and low in vital vitamins and minerals. So why is it that we eat this junk? Maybe because we are a fast society always on the go. The first step in changing your diet is stopping this way of life. Slow down a bit and enjoy. Making healthy meals at home doesn't have to be time consuming and you don't have to be a professional cook to make good meals that you will love. When you cook your own meals, you are sure to know what is going in them and you are able to keep the bad stuff out of them. Eating organic and natural is a great place to start your change into healthy meals.
Many women are in need of supplements. Many women are lacking certain vitamins and minerals. When trying to conceive, taking a prenatal vitamin with folic acid in it is recommended. You should take a prenatal vitamin for at least three to six months before conceiving if possible. You should also see a health care provider to make sure that you have no conditions that you may be unaware of such as diabetes or thyroid disorders. If you do have anything, you can begin treatment and that can help you to conceive quicker. Past medical history is important in this time of your life. Knowing what conditions you, your partner, and your families have or have had is important.
One thing to think of before trying to conceive is, are we ready to become parents? Stress is one of the main reasons people have trouble conceiving. Having support during this time is crucial. Being on the same page as your partner is a good idea as well. Having open communication is a great thing and will help you when you become a parent as well. Talking about careers, goals, moving into a new house, siblings as well as money is something that maybe should be talked about before conceiving so that you and your partner are together from the start.
Now, you have decided it is time to conceive, so let's boost your fertility. There are five steps that can help you.
1. Adapt your lifestyle.
Stop smoking or drinking alcohol if you do. Improving your nutrition is key now too.
2. Improve your wellbeing.
Have a physical with your health care provider. Try to reduce the need for medications if possible. See the dentist.
3. Detoxify your system.
Drink plenty of water. Cut down on caffeine. Add more fresh, natural, and organic food choices. Eat less preservatives. Take a
prenatal vitamin daily.
4. Improve your environment.
Avoid toxic chemicals. Use plants to neutralize a static environment. Complete home renovations now and ventilate your house.
5. Relax and stay positive.
Learn to manage stress. Exercise for physical health, as well as mental health. Maintain balance in your life.
Boosting female fertility can be done with a few steps. Stop smoking and drinking alcohol. These can cause problems with not only your health but also your unborn baby's health as well. Smoking has been linked to complications in birth, low birth weight babies, cancer, depleting your vitamin C, and is linked to fallopian tube blockages. Vitamin C is vital to your health. Vitamin C aids in the absorption of iron, which is vital as well. Vitamin C can also be beneficial to conception and pregnancy. It improves the health of your unborn baby. Alcohol flushes vital nutrients out of your system. Without alcohol in your system, you reduce your chances of giving birth to a baby with birth defects.
Vitamins and minerals are important to your body. Some vitamins have shown to be especially good for helping a healthy conception. Vitamins A, B1, B2, B5, B6, B12, C,D,E, K and essential fatty acids are all important to incorporate into your diet in food and supplements. Calcium, Chromium, Copper, Iodine, Iron, Magnesium, Manganese, Phosphorus, Potassium, Selenium, and Zinc are all important minerals to make sure you have in your diet and supplements.
You should avoid some hazards while trying to conceive. Some of these household hazards include: aluminum cookware, antacids, artificially scented things such as candles, makeup, and perfumes, gas powered stoves, plastic food wrap, microwave ovens, canned foods and drinks, herbicides, pesticides, foil, electric blankets as well as many other things that you probably do not even realize can cause fertility problems. Volatile Organic Compounds, or VOCs are a large group of chemicals known to be neurotoxic and cause fertility problems. They reduce the indoor air quality and are associated with sick building syndrome. Increasing ventilation in your home can help to disperse the VOCs in your house and allow more healthy air flow. Spider plants are good at sucking up the VOCs in the air. It absorbs ions and balances humidity. The best place to have a spider plant is near a computer screen.
A startling fact is that over 70,000 manufactured chemicals are in use throughout the world and not all of them have been tested for toxic effects on human reproduction. Many of these are used by humans on a daily basis. How scary is that statistic?
Exercise is a great fertility booster. It is beneficial to all, whether or not they are trying to conceive. It is something that should be done on a daily basis from now on. Yoga is a great stress releaser and counts as exercise as well. Walking is another easy one that is exercise as well as a stress releaser. Walking just 20-30 minutes a day is beneficial to your health. Both men and women should be taking part in an exercise program to boost fertility. For some, just losing a few pounds boosts their fertility enough that they conceive. Exercise has so many benefits and it is so easy to do that it seems foolish not to partake in an exercise program. Make it fun. Swimming, tennis and basketball are all good ways to enjoy someone's company while exercising. If you keep it fun, you will continue to do it.
There are three key factors to a healthy conception. One is the quality of the sperm. It needs to be strong, mobile and well formed. Healthy sperm are the outcome of a good diet and exercise program as well as avoiding toxic chemicals. The next key factor is the egg quality. Absence of infections and blockages in the tubes will ensure that the egg can travel to the appropriate place without issues. Healthy diet and exercise program as well as avoidance of toxic chemicals is also key. Lastly, the compatibility of sperm and vaginal fluids is necessary. Neither should contain auto-antibodies. A simple test done in a physician's office called a post coital test can determine if this is a problem in conceiving. Making sure that both the male's body as well as the female's body is working correctly with no known hormonal problems is important as well.
The female fertility cycle needs to be regular for conception to happen. Most women have 28-34 day cycles. Ovulation usually occurs between day 12 and day 16 of a woman's cycle. Knowing your cycle is an important factor. Keep tract of your cycles with charts. That can be very helpful in diagnosing a problem if one should arise.
Infertility is defined as the inability to conceive after trying for a period of twelve months or longer. Seeking medical help is advised if you have been actively trying to conceive with no pregnancy for twelve cycles. Primary fertility is when a couple has no children. Secondary fertility is when a couple has a child and is having trouble conceiving a subsequent child. Knowing these definitions can help you to determine what problem you need to address is.
Some common causes of infertility is endometriosis, polycycstic ovarian syndrome, tubal damage, and sperm/mucous compatibility. These can all be determined by some tests that they physician will order. There are options that can be taken if tests come back that you have any one of these problems.
Complementary care or a holistic approach has been known to help many people to conceive. Holistic practitioners can give advise on nutritional changes, lifestyle changes as well as relaxation techniques. Holistic approaches encourage a healthy mind and body. These therapies can be used in conjunction as medical intervention. They can complement each other. Some of these holistic therapies can include, aromatherapy, homeopathy, yoga, acupuncture, acupressure, massage, reflexology, herbal therapies, chiropractic, and meditation. These can all be done with any medical intervention as well. Complementary therapies can help you to give up addictions, relax and reduce stress, minimize health problems, reduce headaches and alleviate endometriosis or other menstrual type pains you may be having.
If medical intervention is necessary, you may be advised to start off with insemination. The use of fertility drugs is dependent on each individual's situation. If insemination does not work after a few months, you may be advised to move onto IVF. Your health care provider can work hand in hand with your holistic practitioner and that may give you the greatest chance of all to conceive.
Whatever you have to do to conceive, just stay positive and do not let the stress get you down. Stress is a tough thing to deal with. Stay together as a couple and be each other's strength and it will happen. Just remember what is at the end of all of this: a happy, healthy baby. That is the goal, isn't it?
Many people struggle with infertility and are unable to conceive for whatever reason. These people may go on to using a surrogate or adopting. No matter how you achieve the goal of a family, it can happen. A family is made in many different ways. No one way is the right way. Every situation calls for a different solution. A child is the best gift one can ever get!
