As the population of our country grows, the volume of our garbage inevitably grows, too. This is the reason why, we have endless landfill problems not only in the Philippines, but in other countries as well.

But finding the next land fill when the old one is beyond its capacity to hold more garbage is not the solution. The area of our world remains constant and if we just produce more garbage without doing something about it, it will not be long before the entire country and eventually the world will be overtaken by its own garbage. We need sound solution to implement sound waste management systems to reduce our waste materials to a minimum and to generate income for the operator.

What our country's garbage situation needs is a long term solution that is environmentally sound, financially viable for the government, and economically feasible for the people.

At RU Foundry, what started as a single machinery to hasten the decomposition process has now evolved into a complete system for holistic waste management. The makers of RU Shredder realized our society's need not only to counteract the growing garbage problem, but also to teach people about a less wasteful lifestyle, to change the standards of agriculture, to raise up people's standards of living, and to provide a sustainable source of income in the backyard level.

"We have developed our own system of waste management that starts from the garbage source up to the end user. What most people are not aware of is the fact that our garbage may be re-used and recycled, if we know what to do with them," said Ramon Uy, owner and general manager of RU Foundry is Bacolod City. This system begins with segregation at the source, to the processing facility, and up until the output distribution.

"This waste management system is our own version of the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) that has become popular in many cities of the world." Uy disclosed. "We have created not only a user-friendly shredder that hastens the decomposition process of biodegradable materials, but also other advanced waste management equipment. Additionally we offer management and personnel training, marketing assistance, and infrastructure development needed for an effective MRF that can better suit our local needs," he added

This system has been developed by RU Foundry in support of the Philippine government's Solid Waste Management Act, or R.A. 9003. RU Foundry has small to large scale MRFs avaible, depending on the needs of a particular area.
