A Husband's Guide to the Wedding Anniversary

Karl Withakay
Women in general are emotional humans. Your wife is no different. Your wedding anniversary can be a great night if you do things right. And don't make the mistake of forgetting. Your anniversary is something that you should prepare for well in advance. Let's get started.

Send Flowers

Let's get it started. If your wife works or even if she's a stay at home wife, send her flowers during the day with something sweet and endearing in the card that comes with it.

Don't Wait Until The Last Minute.

Not being able to get a dinner reservation is almost as bad as forgetting the anniversary. Depending on the restaurant, make reservations at LEAST forty eight hours in advance.

Pick A Good Place

Even if you have to drive for a bit, take your wife to a better than average place. If money is tight, save your money in advance for it. Don't take her to a TGI Friday's or a Texas Roadhouse. Not that there's anything wrong with those places but just keep in mind that this is a night for romance. You want a nice quiet, candle lit dinner. Do not settle for anything less. And make sure you tip at least 15% of the bill. Spare no expense on this night.

Take Her For a Romantic Walk After Dinner

Weather permitting, take her for a nice romantic walk after dinner. If you live near water like the ocean or a lake, take her for a walk along the water. Hopefully, it's a clear night with the moon shining down on both of you.

Smile

I know this seems obvious but I'm serious. Look into her eyes on this evening often and just give her a sweet endearing smile. A loving smile can go a long way in a woman's heart.

Prepare The Home

Ahead of time before your anniversary date, hire a friend or an agency to prepare your home for the two of you when you return. Have them turn down the bed, maybe sprinkle rose pedals around in a trail to the bed. Have them put out some fine wine for the both of you in your bedroom.

Even if you're not the kind of man who can easily express his feelings, just the fact that you did all of this will melt her heart. It will convey to her how much you love her and desire her.

Now turn down the lights, and......(I don't think you need my help here). Happy anniversary. Both of you.
