The Notebook
This movie is the first movie that comes to mind and it makes an appearance on every list of this type and similar. It tells the story of a young woman who falls in love with a young man from a poor but hardworking background. The young woman's family tried to keep them apart but to no avail. This movie is very well written and the acting is superb. Make sure she has some tissues handy and be prepared for her heart to melt.
PS I Love You
Sad and sweet. It doesn't get any better than this. The movie starts out with a young couple in a huge fight. He gets mad, stomps, and slams the door. She immediately calms down, then gets sad. She misses him. He returns, is standing in the doorway with an "I'm sorry" look on his face and they make up. The movie fast forwards to later in the year and he has died. The story goes through how much she misses him. The young widow's mother has a bunch of letters that her husband wrote to her to be delivered after he died. Each letter gives her specific instructions and contains plane tickets, and hotel accommodations. After his death, he sends her on a journey that will allow her to move on with her life. He ends each letter with "PS, I Love You". A very well written movie with excellent acting. She'll love it.
Titanic
I love true stories. While the love story in the film is fictitious, the event really happened and it's fun to imagine that a love story of this type happened on that day in 1912. The movie tells the story of a young and beautiful woman who is set to marry a wealthy man. She meets and falls in love with a young man on the boat who is rather poor and no where near her equal. I won't spoil it for you but it's a must if you haven't seen it. If you have seen it, it's so good that you and her should not mind seeing it again.
A Walk To Remember
This is an excellent story based on a novel by Nicholas Spark (who also wrote the novel that the movie "The Notebook" was based on) It tells the story of what happens when two totally different social worlds come together. A great film that will bring her closer to you for sure.
All of these films have great stories and superb acting. You can't miss with these films. Any one of these titles will have her cuddled up to you on the couch. And we all know what cuddling sometimes leads to right?
