A Journey into Imagination

" A journey into imagination"
By Stephanie Bryan
ENG 125
Section N01

There is far more to Stephanie than what initially meets the eye. To the casual observer, she is dark and mysterious. This, by any means, is no fallacy. But there is far more to her than that. Allow me to elaborate.
When she was very young, around the time she started kindergarten, Stephanie instantly knew that she had a very creative side. She could invent distant lands and imaginary friends in her head well before the bell rang signaling lunchtime. It's not that she was schizophrenic or anything, she just had a very vivid imagination. Every now and then, it would cause her some trouble, and inevitably she would have to think of a believable reason to get herself out of it. But for the most part, it allowed her to journey far away from the mundane world that had became monotonous to her and travel to a place where anything that she could dream up, no matter how silly,
would seem logical. Fighting dragons early in the morning in Camelot and searching for the middle of the earth at night, there was really no limit. Until...
One day the magic ended. Nothing was ever really said, but I could tell that she wasn't the same energetic 4 year old who could tell the most incredible stories, stories that you would want to be real. You see, I am the imaginary friend that I spoke of earlier. I was the one who was there when everyone else abandoned her. And I have a feeling that I will surface again, because I am once again having the insatiable urge to help her unleash her creative side, it's the one time that she is truly happy.

Disclaimer- This is, by far, a very creative piece, not to be confused with insanity!

    Sanity, like reality,
    is way over rated

    the lust for life,

    needs dreams in
    order to be sated

    so says my wife
