The 80's were characterized by the raw talent of big guns like Bryan Adams, Bon Jovi, Cyndi Lauper, Duran Duran, Guns N' Roses, Madonna, Michael Jackson. The big stars like ABBA, Bob Marley, and Bruce Springsteen were still bestowing their excellence upon the fast changing world that fought for many global causes. Many a ballads were belted out during this culture rich ear, most with solid back stories penned by legendary artists.
There doesn't seem to be any firm consensus on the biggest selling singles around the world for the 1980s. All sites and organizations seem to have their own personal list. I for one enjoyed the compilation put together by one of the youtube.com contributor, who has gone through a lot of trouble to weave together the most striking songs of the 1980's. The compilation which is divided into 4 parts covers a medley of 182 songs from the 80s and is a wonderful way to prance down the 1980s in just under 35 minutes. The link to the youtube.com user is http://www.youtube.com/user/outlandz. I have no affiliation with this individual but enjoyed the work thoroughly.
