A Kendra Wilkinson Lesbian Sex Tape is Reportedly Being Shopped Around

Sex Tapes Have Begun to Generate Instant Celebrities - How to Stop It?

RadarOnline has reported that a Kendra Wilkinson lesbian sex tape may be making its way to market later this year. While Kendra has yet to release a statement on this particular video, Wilkinson is no stranger to the "private sex tape finding its way into the hands of consumers" phenomenon. In May of 2010, a sex tape featuring Wilkinson and ex-boyfriend Justin Frye was released through Vivid Entertainment. RadarOnline reported that Kendra netted a payday of $680,000 with a deal for up to 50 percent of the profits from selling "Kendra Wilkinson Exposed."

The new sex tape, which has not been confirmed yet, was reportedly shot around the time period of Kendra's former video and features a close female friend as her co-star with boyfriend Justin Frye managing the camera. The existence of this sex tape or alternate Wilkinson sex tapes is not unbelievable.

In 2010, RadarOnline also established that in 2008 Kendra formed an LLC in California with a business purpose of "entertainment production." A business search on the California Secretary of State website for "Home Run Productions, LLC" labels the status of Wilkinson's LLC as active, though the entity address has not been updated since listing the Playboy Mansion address. It is believed that the LLC was intent on shopping around multiple provocative and/or sex tapes.

Whether or not this sex tapes turns out to be real, the fact is that at least one exists, and that it was parlayed into an expansive payday for Kendra illustrates a disturbing new trend. While Wilkinson became famous for her body outside of these sex tapes prior to their release, it seems more and more young women are ready to settle for being infamous for a few moments rather than work at cultivating a real talent - talent that is marketable without plastic surgery and personal exploitation.

Perhaps an even more famous example of this type of behavior is Kim Kardashian. Kardashian is widely recognized as a beautiful woman with a head for how to market herself. Instead of using her looks and brains for a higher purpose, she took the low road to infamy by appearing in a sex tape with Ray J, a hip-hop mogul and brother of Brandy. After the sex tape, scoring a reality show was a cinch.

The reality show, "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," made Kim and her entire family household names and has led to an empire's worth of marketing opportunities, including upcoming clothing lines at Sears, beauty products and an ill-fated attempt at launching a prepaid credit card.

Both Kim and Kendra's sex tapes were marketed through Vivid Entertainment, a company that also offers a sex tape by another young woman who has tried to score fame on multiple levels: Brittney Jones. Last fall, Jones told Star magazine that she had a fling with actor Ashton Kutcher on his couch while his wife, celebrated actress Demi Moore, was away from home. The story never really gained heavy traction, so, as an alternate means of gaining recognition, Brittney Jones released a sex tape - anything to be infamous.

So far there is no concrete way to stymie this fast track to infamy and celebrity status. All the average consumer can do is ignore the behavior, not buy or view the tapes and avoid purchasing anything that adds to the pocketbook of these people. When the entertainment industry and companies that look for celebrity endorsement can see that their bottom line is not impacted positively by releasing a junior's clothing line bearing the name of a sex tape star, the cycle will end.

This is one battle the pocketbook must fight, and not moral outrage.
