A Knight's Night

Everyone has dream to live the life of a hero and perform the acts of heroism. However there are only few who get the opportunity to do so as when the opportunity knocks, most are caught sleeping. Similar has been my dream throughout my childhood.

It was a late night birthday party of my colleague last month where I got really late while returning back to home. Since the distance was a short one, I decided to walk my way instead of using my bike. It was around 2.00 am and I saw a group of rowdy boys encircling an all alone girl. I was shocked to witness the scene as the girl seemed to be in a big trouble. There were loud words being exchanged among them and the helpless girl seemed to be really scared.

There were hundreds of thought that passed my mind on whether to help her out or run for some assistance. Without thinking again I jumped into the scene and challenged 5 bad boys present. They were shocked too to see my courage or foolishness for challenging them alone. When they started approaching me I looked back and shouted as if I had some more people with me at my back. The boys being afraid of a massive attack started pushing themselves back away from me. I courageously held the girl's hand and moved her behind my back just to safeguard from any attack by the enemies.

Seeing my confidence and in the wrong belief that there were some more people with me, the enemies started running away uttering out foul words. I took a sigh of relief and made the girl comfortable enough. I felt like a real knight having saved a girl from big trouble as if I lived a Knight's night during that period of heroism of mine. I then called up friends to get a vehicle to the site for dropping the girl safely to her place. As it is said boys will be boys, my friend initially started teasing me seeing the girl with me but when I explained them the situation they started praising my bravery and we all dropped the girl to her destination.
