"A Learning Experience of a Medical Student"

Seth
The overall experience I had during my 2-month stay at Paknaan Community Hospital was overwhelming with challenge and fun. Challenging in a way that we were oblige to do things that were not part of our normal routine like cooking and doing household chores (mess stuff). Bit by bit we learned as each day passed and our bond as a team got stronger as we strive to help each other in each task we had on hand. It was self fulfilling that someone praises you with the way that you cook when for a long time you never had that much confidence on that field. Well, it basically showed me that there is more to me than just a person aiming to be a medical practitioner. It is something that I appreciate and will reminisce from time to time to serve as an inspiration to do things that I may think is beyond my capability.

Moving on to the field of Medicine, I should say that I have learned a lot in a short span of time. We got to rotate on different departments each day, thus our knowledge on these aspects were honed day after day. Site for example I got to assist a labor when I haven't been able to rotate on a pediatric department yet. There is more that what meets the eye if you really aim to help those who are in need of medical assistance. There are a lot of people in the community who really needs our help. Being assigned on the field, I have seen countless families suffering in poverty hidden in deep corners of society. Definitely, they all need a reaching hand when it comes to health. Constant follow-up is needed and Government assistance is an utmost importance for this people.

Sad as it may be, our time at Paknaan Community Hospital is coming to an end. I will surely miss the serenity, the good southern wind blowing through my face, and the feel of nature all over the place. To sum it all up, I had a relaxing 2 months but sooner it will be back to a hellish reality of sleepless 36hrs of duty and never ending tasks with short deadlines. That's the life I chose and will surely persevere. Kudos to all Medical Students sharing the same fate I have.
