A Letter to the King of Pop

Birthday Letter

Rodina Bolivar
On this day, I would like to remember a music artist who went out of his way for people. He donated money to charities and went overseas to visit children who were sick and ailing. His name was Michael Jackson. Michael, you were the most multi-talented pop artist. Before NSYNC. Before Britney Spears. Before Christina Aguilera. There was you. You captured the hearts of many people, even those who hated you before they met you. I wish that you could have been here on earth to celebrate your birthday and turn 51 years-old in front of millions of your fans. But, it looks as if that will never happen.

Eddie Griffin stated that you died of a broken heart. You went out of your way for people. And as soon as the accusations of child-molestation and child-endangerment snaked in, people bailed out of your life and turned their backs on you. I wish that I could have been in California to support you through your trials, but I was busy in high school. i could not miss any classes. I also wish that you could be here to celebrate with your children. You know how every parent loves the sounds of their children running up the stairs and into their bedroom to sing Happy Birthday, and give you hand-made birthday cards with balloons? I know that you are one of those parents.

While looking at some recent pictures of you with your children, i can tell that you are by far, the prime example of how parents are suppose to interact with their children. If you were here right now to see the cruel, vicious things that parents commit on their kids, it would break your heart. While watching TV some years back, I heard that you were concerned about Whitney Houston. I would like you to know that Whitney is back on track. She has a new album titled "I Look To You" that will be released on the 31st of August.

No matter what occurred during your days on this earth, just know that you have loyal fans here and around the globe that will set a time to celebrate your life. I will also set a time to remember you. I can't wait for Saturday. Although my birthday has passed, I would like to also take this time and share my cake with you.

Happy Birthday Michael Jackson. Wish You Could Be Here.
