A Letter From Me

Serge Pupko
He had not been expecting a letter. On the envelope, the sender's name read "Me." The sender's address was not written at all, and there was no stamp. Either someone was seriously messing with his head, or someone must have just dropped it in the mailbox as a prank. The recipient's name read "You," and the address read "Your Current Location."

He was freaking out now. He's gotten a weird letter from Me, and that "Me" didn't even bother to write down his real name and address. He was scared. He spent quite some time just staring at it, contemplating whether or not he should open it. About an hour passed; he was now sweating. Apparently, he was scared of this whole thing - probably hoping it's just a nightmare. Finally, he drew a deep breath and opened the envelope. His hands were shaking, and he perspired quite a bit in the act of opening the envelope. With his sweaty, shaking hands, he pulled out a folded paper. He gulped down, and unfolded the letter. The letter read:

"Dear You, it's Me. Remember me? You and I grew up together. We were best friends forever; We still are. I just want to catch up on things. How have you been? You still have that toy car that we always fought over? Yeah, I know, I know... You always got away with it. But, it's OK. I found other things to play with. Besides, I'm all grown up now. I'm in college, studying Psychology. I don't know why I'm studying it, but I guess I'm doing it because I sort of always wanted to. People said I was crazy, and that it's never going to work. Yet, here I am, one year into my course! I'm so excited! Also, I'm 100% covered by scholarships! Who would have thought?

Not only that, but the government provided me with a house and a car. On top of that, they send me some money to pay for bills, gas, and food. Learning does pay - literally! I don't want to sound too much like I'm bragging, but I just wanted to let you know how things are going. Hoping to hear from you soon!

Sincerely, Me."

"Wow," he thought. "Here's someone named Me, who I don't seem to know, yet he knows so much about me. Well, he's expecting a reply, so I better get to it."

He grabbed a paper and a pencil and made it to the desk. He started writing a reply:

"Dear Me, it's You..."

I've been into cars for a long time now. It started as a little kid when I started drawing cars for fun. My cars, though, did not have guns and fins on them, well, most of them didn't, to say the least. I fo...  View profile
