Dear Mom and Dad,
I know you love me and want what is best for me. I know it makes you sad to see the war in Iraq, so Mommy why do you allow me to watch violent movies, where I see people shooting one another?
Do you remember my friend who was killed by a drunk driver last week? Can you imagine what her parents are going through right now, being alcoholics themselves? It could've been them who could have killed someone.
Momma you tell me crack cocaine kills and can kill in an instant, as you pass me a joint, I don't understand?
Daddy I know you don't want me to get pregnant again, because I am still a child myself, so why do you watch porno flix on the internet? Yes, I walked in and saw it myself. I remember you making me have an abortion and now you hand me condoms so I won't get pregnant? What about dignity and self-respect? Why didn't you teach me about that growing up?
Mommy I know you want me to do my best in school, so why don't you ever read to me or help me with my homework?
You see Mom and Dad, you want what is best for me and you want me to be the best I can be, but you can't show me how. Do you know why? It is because you aren't being the best you can be.
I love you Mom and Dad, please SHOW me you do too.
Love
Your Child

Post a CommentVery powerful. I think a lot of kids feel that way about their parents especially if they aren't setting a good example for their kids.
