A Letter to Mom in Heaven

Sandra Hatfield
Dear Mom,

Today my heart aches because you are not here anymore,

Your loving arms no longer here to cuddle,

Your smile no longer to look upon,

Your eyes no longer to look into for reassurance,

Your voice is no longer heard in the house,

You're still my mother, even if you are not here on earth anymore.

I hope you are enjoying your new life in heaven,

I will meet you up there someday but hopefully not too soon,

I am glad you feel no more pain and no more suffering,

I know you feel no more sadness,

I know you can now see out of your eyes and hear better out of your ears,

I know you no longer have weak bones and can stand straight and strong.

Today I feel this pain when I have memories of you,

I know I am supposed to be celebrating your life,

It is difficult to do this sometimes when I think of you because the pain just intensifies,

I missed your proud voice when I graduated from college,

I had to cook the feast that you normally would have fixed for Thanksgiving,

Christmas was just not the same without you and ever will be again,

When your birthday rolled around you would have been 65 years old,

Next week will be my birthday and you won't be there to bake me your special cake,

I know all the other holidays will not be the same anymore without your love.

Who do I ask for parenting advice in the future when I have my own children?

I know I may sound selfish but I really needed you to know that I miss you mom and that I wish you could have stayed with us a little bit more. I know you are busy with Jesus now and so I will let you get back to Him. I will see you someday when I come stand by Jesus.Love,
Your Daughter

So touching, I feel it. Lost my mom in Jan 2009.

I am very sad for your loss. You have expressed that sense of emptiness well.
