Counselor - Many children face hardships outside of school in addition to pressures inside school. All of this stress can reap havoc on a young child. They might seek ways to relieve this stress by harming themselves or others. This is where counselors come in. If you think counseling is right for you, you might want to consider obtaining a Bachelor's of Science degree in fields such as social work, education, sociology or psychology. Upon completing your Bachelor's you should continue your education and obtain a master's degree in your preferred (specialized) field. Upon completing your Master's you will need to get licensed. Certification varies in each state. Once you have completed your degree and you have received liscensure you will be ready to hold occupations in schools, rehabilitation centers, and in clinics. Social workers help people improve the quality of their lives and so often help them with personal, housing and financial issues. There are many branches and specialties in social work but the most common branches are child, family and school and mental health (substance abuse.) Social workers can help a low-income family find housing, jobs, or educational programs. They can help families who face domestic violence and find them safe places to reside and help them with through the court process. Other social workers help people who battle substance abuse problems regain their footing in society by showing them alternate routes to dealing with stress and pain. If you would like to be a social worker you should consider obtaining your Bachelor's in social work. That is all that is needed to practice as a social worker but obtaining a Master's degree will offer you a higher pay and the opportunity to work in a more specialized field. Once you obtain your Bachelor's or Master's you can ready yourself to work in places such as government agencies, schools, hospitals, senior citizen homes and family services agencies...
Psychologist- Psychologists help people who feel as though their life is becoming too burdensome. They also help people who suffer from behavioral problems that interfere with their everyday life. Psychologists work with all types of people from small children, to teens, to adults, and in some instances psychologists work with people who have committed gruesome crimes. To become a psychologist you would need to obtain a Bachelor's degree in social work. You would then continue on to obtain Masters in your specialty and from there you would need two years of supervised training. Once you complete your degree you will be ready to work in places such as universities, private practices, government agencies, hospitals, clinics, and primary and secondary schools.

As a community outreach worker it is your duty to help better those in the community. If you think you would like to branch into this career you might want to consider obtaining a Bachelor's degree in human services. A degree in human services offers a broad range of career paths that focus on helping individuals and so you can find positions in institutions, residential care and in the community.
Doctor- This is one of the most intense educational paths to take. The learning is grueling and seems to be never ending, and the price it takes to earn a doctorate degree is considerably high. There are many types of doctors that you can to be for example; you could be a family (general) practitioner, an obstetrician, a gynecologist, a podiatrist, an anesthesiologist an ophthalmologist, or a pediatrician... the list goes on. It usually takes a whopping 11-12 years to become a doctor. Even after the 11 years you might find yourself still attending courses here and there to learn new technology and such. You will need four years of premed, four years of medical school, a two year internship, and lastly, two years of residency. The great thing about being a doctor is that you can help those in your country or you could venture out of your country to help others in impoverished areas where doctors are scarce. It takes a lot of work, but the experience of helping someone feel better or saving their life can be gratifying.
