A List of the Worst Film Drama of the Decade

Craig Whyel
While there were plenty to choose from, here are the worst film dramas of the decade:

Beyond A Reasonable Doubt 2009 After Dark Films

Michael Douglas, Jesse Metcalfe, Amber Tamblyn

This film was a remake of a 1956 film where a writer tries to expose a bent district attorney. Box office was extremely abysmal.

Deal 2008 Seven Arts Pictures

Burt Reynolds played an ex-gambler who teaches a kid poker then the kid plays against him in a high stakes poker tournament. Mr. Reynolds just doesn't have it anymore.

88 Minutes 2007 Columbia Pictures

Al Pacino

Al seemed very tired as a psychiatrist who races against the clock (hence the title) to stop a killer. Pacino and co-star Leelee Sobieski were nominated for Razzie Awards for their performances.

Basic Instinct 2 2006 Sony Films

Sharon Stone, David Morissey, David Thewlis

They should have left well enough alone, but no, they had to bring back sexy killer, Katherine Tremmel. The capable acting support of David Morissey and Thewlis couldn't help Ms. Stone out of this one.

Twisted 2004 Paramount Pictures

Ashley Judd, Samuel L. Jackson, Andy Garcia

Judd played a police officer with a serial killer father. The story had more twists than a Bavarian Pretzel. Critics laid into the movie, blaming the writing, directing and acting. The film did rather poorly at the box office, making less than its estimated budget.

Half Past Dead 2002 Sony Pictures

Steven Seagal, Morris Chestnut, Ja Rule

Steven Seagal in his umpteenth story of revenge. This clunker stumbled a little beyond its estimated $13 million budget.

Dragonfly 2002 Universal Pictures

Kevin Costner

A story of a doctor whose wife disappears during an accident in South America. Dragonfly was utterly loathed by critics. They claimed the movie was too melancholy to generate any suspense.

Killing Me Softly 2002 MGM

Joseph Fiennes, Heather Graham, Natasha McElhone

An attractive cast could do little to save the convoluted logic of this tale of a woman who dumps her boyfriend to go for something a little more dangerous.

Deuces Wild 2002 Clyde Films

Steven Dorf, Brad Renfro, Mat Dillon

A tale of sibling gang members who want to keep drugs out of Brooklyn. Critics hated the melodrama and unusual dialogue.

The Smokers 2000 MGM Home Entertainment

Dominique Swain, Busy Phillips, Keri Lynn Pratt

A group of high school senior girls at a mid-west boarding school who go after men as sex objects. Some critics thought the girls were too evil to identify with.
