A Living Sonnet

Quickpaws
The love he gives to others
Softly warms the coldest night.
Beneath is chest, a heart so bold,
I'm blinded by its sight!

There's artistry in every smile,
And fire in his touch.
It's hard to keep my distance
From a man I love so much.

He only sees me as a friend.
I NEED to let him go.
I'd suffer far less heartache
If I didn't love him so.

He fascinates me,
Challenging my mind,
My soul,
My heart.
He walks so close to Jesus
That they never seem to part.

He's a living, breathing sonnet,
Penned by God's Almighty Hand,
Accomplished both in word and deed,
Too deep to understand.

Basking in his gentleness,
I often wonder why
He'd deign to pay attention
To a woman such as I.

When we talk,
I'm oft inspired
By his thoughts so wise.
For all my days,
I'll not forget
The kindness in his eyes.

My greatest wish is that he saw
The splendor that I see:
A heart so pure, its light will shine
Throughout eternity.
