When you're hungry for classic diner fare, stop in and eat at the Odyssey, in Eastchester NY. Located on route 22 in the heart of Eastchester, the restaurant has plenty of carefree parking and offers a classic diner experience. The menu, loaded with yummy dishes from appetizers to desserts will satisfy any appetite.

The eatery is separated into several rooms all revolving around a centralized kitchen. A lively aquarium greets you at the entrance and always captures my children's attention. A dessert case out front gets your mouth watering and ample counter seating is available for a quick bite. The hosts are gracious and waste no time finding you a table.

My favorite dishes are the cheeseburger deluxe and lamb gyro. The cheeseburger dish offers a charbroiled burger, a healthy serving of French fries, a sampling of onion rings, lettuce, tomato, and cold slaw. I'm always content after that meal.

The lamb gyro is full of flavor as well. It's served atop a pita with chopped lettuce, tomato, and cucumber. French-fries complement the dish, though the tzatziki sauce could be a bit tastier.

For breakfast make sure you get the home fries with your eggs. They're delicious and go well with my breakfast favorite, the eggs benedict.

For dessert, it's hard to beat the warm Blueberry pie. The generous portion, served with whipped cream is attractively presented and very tasty.

Hunts ketchup is there condiment of choice and mine as well. I also recommend the turkey club, Rueben, and chicken fingers. Avoid the Buffalo wings; they're unconvincing and a bit spicy. You'd fare better with the mozzarella sticks.

I've been a patron of this diner for over twenty years. In the world of casual dining, you'd be hard pressed to find a better spot.
