A Longer Poem (than an Haiku, Plus an Haiku)
Perspective to Help Me when Things Seem Wrong, but They Seldom Are in God's Wonderful World
There are times when
the sinful side of me compares -
Those are times when
the mind counts, measures, takes on airs ...
The news shakes me back then -
lives taken instantly in an accident!
Thank God I can come back to source
Show gratitude for what I have
Especially this precious life force
And a body that can move, work, laugh
And then I am whole again
Because the mind is corralled again
There are times when
the ugly side of me resents
The insensitivity of some human
(I did not get as much I gave in presents?)
And somehow, the hearing of the Word
Tells me I am to store treasures with the Lord
And I know that ACTS spell prayer:
Perhaps the four essentials we require:
"A" is for adoration of our Creator
After that, "C" is for confessing failure
Following quickly is "T" for Thanksgiving
and "S" for supplication, specifying a blessing!
Shalom/Blessings from Creator-Parent of our Universe, (c) Deo.June 23, 2009
for haiku lovers:
some plants drowned this spring
most hues thrived to shout "summer" -
lilies come calling

Post a CommentThese are both very good. My own lillies are shouting "summer" amongst weeds. (May have to do something with that image). The first is a very good reminder to all! We all fall short sometimes.
thank you all so kindly. Shalom and Blessings through this important Holiday (Freedom Day USA) and Canadian birthday (July 1st). Neil

thanks so much Green... and Susan S. Now, we on the East coast will enjoy your kind of weather too. Just in time for July 4th - the reason for the season of Summer. Amen/Shalom
