2009, was a fairly kind year for me and my family. We did manage to pay on time most , if not all of our debts on time. This for us is a big deal. My husband and I want all our debts to be paid perfectly, but sometimes we fall behind, and have to make it up in one form or another, like cutting back on this or that. I believe everyone shares this with us. No one can be perfect, right?
2009 has went by so fast I kinda don't remember it all. I do remember that this is the last year my oldest child will be in Middle School, and I know that this year my second born started Middle School. These were big changes in our family. I for one wish my daughters could stay young for a longtime, just till I can "soak up" everything about them. Children grow so fast and then one day they are out on their own, with their own families.
In 2009, I managed to be put on Insulin. I am diabetic and I totally hated being put on insulin. I was scared at first, but later I realized it was for the best. Even though I feel like my body failed trying on its own to manage my blood sugars, I will continue to strive for that perfect blood sugar. I do not wish this though on anyone, so please check your blood sugars, or seek medical help if you or someone you loves think that they might be experiencing any problems.
2009 is the last year we will be paying for one of our vehicles we own. I am so glad to have that payment alleviated. Yay! Although we will officially not owe for any vehicle as far as paying payments I am still hoping to get a truck soon. I miss the old truck I had, F150. I do not however want a car payment, maybe we can pay cash this time. Imagine that, paying straight out for a car or truck.
This year has been a good one as far as reconnecting with old friends, family and all. Through Facebook I have found alot of the friends from my high school and we have caught up. I also spent the Thanksgiving holiday with family members I never even have before. I enjoyed getting near these family members and if the chance arrives again, count me in.
My husband has had a good year I would have to say. He has managed to keep a steady job, and will have been there for ten years, this coming year. Most of our friends have had a time with losing jobs and so forth. We were real fortunate that the chicken business did not experience downsizing or a lay off, or worse, a closing. So this year has been a steady stream of income, I even picked up some work for myself.
As we head into another year I am amazed at how my life seems to have this comfort at times, and how blessed I have been, not in riches, but love. Material things are not as important as feeling love, or loving someone. This year has brought different changes for our country, and for other countries. We have had our very first black President, and we have seen numerous changes in our government. We have continued to help other nations, and we ourselves have experienced great loss and sufferings. Weather has reared it's ugly head a few times and left families, cities and so forth in a whirlwind of pain and suffering and dreaded loss. I for one am glad that God has spared us more. I am not sure if we could have pulled ourselves out of a deeper hole.
When you, yourselves, look back at 2009, make positive changes, create positive thoughts, make and show love, be an example of what 2010 can be. Make it good. Happy New Year friends!
