They are considered by many to be the greatest R&B group of all time. They are the biggest selling act in Motown history selling well over 60 million albums. Their harmonies and vocal talent have been the measuring stick for all other boy bands to measure up to. Even still in 2007 the group is making noise with the release of Motown: a Journey through Hitsville USA. Here is a look at their amazing career:

Albums:

1991 Cooleyhighharmony
1993 Christmas Interpretations
1994 II
1997 Evolution
2000 NathanMichaelShaunWanya
2002 Full Circle
2004 Throwback Vol I.
2006 The Remedy
2007 Motown: Hitsville USA

Most people don't know that Boyz II Men was originally a quintet. Singer Marc Nelson was originally part of the group. He eventually left to pursue a solo career before the group recorded it's first album. The group's first album got them off to a great start. Cooleyhighharmony produced the hit "It's so Hard do Say Goodbye to Yesterday." Along with the single Motownphilly Boyz II Men's first album blasted off into success. The album eventually would go on to sell millions. It was the single End of the Road, however that would make them superstar. As a single from the movie Boomerang, the song was one of the biggest singles of all time. It broke Elvis Presley's record by staying at #1 for thirteen weeks.

Boyz II Men's next album II took the group to even new heights. The album began with the single "I'll Make Love to You." Along with the second single "On Bended Knee" the Boyz had two more number one singles. This album was mostly produced by Babyface and Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, and combination of producers that are responsible for much of Boyz II Men's success. Boyz II Men also released the single Water Run's Dry which made it all the way to #2 on the billboard charts. II Would go on to sell over 12 million copies and become one of the biggest selling albums of all time.

Boyz II Men's next album would be the beginning of tough times for the group. The album Evolution would go on to sell three million copies. Not bad for most people but for Boyz II Men this was a big disappointment given their previous success. The album did produce the #1 hit "Four Seasons of Loneliness." The Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis hit however, was not enough to live up to the success of II. Along with troubles at their label Motown the disappointment of Evolution was a tough time for Boyz II Men.

NathanMichaelShaunWanye was the Boyz next release in 2000. The album didn't produce radio hits like their previous albums. However it is often considered by fans as their best record. It is a record that Boyz II Men produced mostly by themselves. It features great songs like "Pass You By" "Thank You in Advance" and "Never Go Away."

Boyz II Men lost their bass man Michael McCary in 2000. McCary decided to retire from the group because of an ongoing battle with scoliosis. The group would continue to record releasing a number of albums. Although they've never quite recaptured the success of their early days they are highly respected by many in the music community.

What makes this group so great is that they can flat out sing. They got their training in Philadelphia at the Center for Creative and Performing Arts. With the help of Michael Bivins they were able to combine their talents and create lots of success. They will go down in history as one of the the greatest R&B groups of all time. With their new album Motown: A Journey Through Hitsville USA they have once again create another great body of work. The group has teamed up with Randy Jackson and is once again gaining the attention of the music business. Let's hope they keep it for many years to come!
