Batista-He moved to Smackdown and was the last pick in the 2005 draft. He was the reigning World Heavyweight Champion and was moved due to John Cena being the #1 pick and being the WWE Champion at the time. It was more or less a switch of top titles. He held the belt and started to get injured when it started with a freak accident with a double chokeslam on a car with then-World Tag Team Champions Big Show and Kane. He continued to wrestle due to the passing of the late Eddie Guerrero that year, whom was supposed to become World Heavyweight Champion. In what became further injury, it was when he tore his triceps in a match with Mark Henry and was forced to vacate the championship. At this moment, he is currently active and not injured and competing for the World Heavyweight Title and trying to get his 3rd reign as the champion.
Kurt Angle-He got the World Heavyweight Title via Battle Royal and kept it until Wrestlemania. Kurt has had a history of neck problems but was ok for now. It wasn't until after his run that he eventually had a pulled groin. He was moved to the ECW Brand when it was brought back and was later on released from the WWE. He is currently the TNA World Heavyweight Champion but TNA is another topic.
Rey Mysterio-Perhaps the smallest and lightest World Heavyweight Champion in WWE history, he too could not avoid the injury bug that seems to have plagued every World Heavyweight Champion since June of 2005. After his run came to a close by King Booker, he was injured even further in a match with Chavo Guerrero in an "I Quit" match. Of course going in, he was injured and had an ACL problem and is looking to return pretty soon. Maybe it will work out best. He too was unable to keep away from injury after a title run.
King Booker-All right so King Booker didn't have a long time being injured but he did get put out with a knee injury. He won the World Heavyweight Title, his 6th overall but 1st in WWE. He had some knee problems later on earlier in the year before his move to Monday Night Raw. So his was actually the least bothersome and not so much of a problem.
The Undertaker-His injury was a torn bicep and is currently out. He won the World Heavyweight Title at Wrestlemania improving his mark to 15-0 taking the title from Batista. It was a freak accident in a match with Batista the following PPV I believe. What happened was involving the Money in the Bank with Edge taking the title and this is where we go to at this very moment.
Edge-Just recently gave up the World Heavyweight Title right before a title defense against Kane at the Great American Bash. He got Money in the Bank from Mr. Kennedy, whom was believed to be injured and would be out for a very long period of time. He cashed in and took the title just like that and did not lose the title. He had title defenses against Batista and was successful in each of them and was just getting ready to go into a big feud with Kane but that didn't happen due to a torn pec muscle. It seemed like Edge was going to get a run but it wasn't to me and now the title is on the current champion The Great Khali. The injury bug has hit the Main Event scene as if the plague had come and said it was going to take anyone out whoever was on top holding the World Title. It could just be some mere coincidence and poor timing in regards to becoming champion. Then again, nobody ever figured it would happen. Does Smackdown need help? Yes it would be needed but it will take some better training methods than what the wrestlers are doing in order to keep themselves healthier than what they were doing. The World Heavyweight Title is not cursed; it's just got a string of bad luck. For the most part, Smackdown just lacks Main Event talent but doesn't mean it can't be fixed in time. All in due time and when they return the question remains that will step up to the plate next.
