Lake Park is a small 600 acre park, that often goes unnoticed, Size doesn't matter in this case, Lake Park happens to offer something for everyone. With miles of Pine flat-woods with neatly groomed trails, that you can either walk or ride horse back on, it is no wonder why those who love nature, enjoy this quaint little park. These lovely trails have new exercise equipment, with cold water coolers for you to use, If your into more of the rough hiking, try one of the several pig trails that branch off from the main one. throughout these trails you will also find several educational signs, that tell you how to identify plants, and animals in the area.

Outside of the trails, there are still several things for the whole family to enjoy. Located in the center of the park is a very nice, and fairly new playground. This area is perfect for family picnics, and birthday parties. You will even find a marked Pinata pole available for use, convenient restrooms, and a picture perfect view of one of 5 lakes. Throughout this area there are several pavilion's available, as well as picnic tables, and benches making for a perfect family outing.

If your into fishing, then remember to bring your pole. With several lakes available for use, your sure to find the right spot. There is even a boat launch at the largest lake for those with small boats. No swimming is allowed in these lakes, but your can fish your heart out. There is several bulletin boards posted throughout the park, listing all size requirements, and bag limit, if your not up to date on Florida's fish regulations.

Looking for a dog park? Lake Park has that to. Near the entrance you will find a large fenced in area for your little pup to run freely in. Inside the dog area there is several trees, that provide a great shade, and benches for you to rest on. Your dog is welcomed to search the rest of the park as well, as long as he is leashed,

Don't forget to bring the horse. If you own a horse, your welcomed to ride the trials, and roam the park on horse back. Of course you are responsible for your horse.

Surrounded by trees, and other gorgeous natural views, you are sure to enjoy the peaceful setting that Lake Park offers, Best of all entrance to the park, and use of all it's amenities are absolutely free. Lake Park is located at 17302 N. Dale Mabry Highway, in Tampa Florida. The park closes at 8:00 pm during the summer, allowing you plenty of time to take advantage of everything it offers. Remember to bring some sunscreen, the fun is provided.
