A Look at the NFL Playoff Possibilities: NFC

Bo Thornton
The NFL season is winding down. There are four games to play. The NFC is a very strong conference this year. The playoff race is not easy to predict. Most of the teams that are still in contention for a playoff berth are capable of defeating any of the other playoff contenders. This race could go on until the final week of the season. Let's take a look at the playoff picture in the NFC.

Saints

Without a doubt, the surprise of the year in the NFL is the New Orleans Saints. Everyone knew about their powerful offense, but their defense has kept pace. With four games to go, they sit at a perfect 12-0. That is something no one expected. They are chasing destiny. They could join the Miami Dolphins as the only franchise to have a perfect 16-0 regular season. They have been down many times this season. They have found ways to win many games in the second half this season. I believe they will make the playoffs. Not only will they make the playoffs, but they will also get a first round bye in the playoffs. They are also a team I have my eye on. They should at least win one game in the playoffs.

Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings are having a great season. They are in second place in the NFC at the moment. They are excellent on both sides of the ball. They look like a real Super Bowl contender. This is one team that has had high expectations all year. They haven't disappointed so far. They will get a first round bye in the playoffs. I also think they will represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. I think they will beat themselves before anyone else does.

Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals are the defending NFC champions. They are having a better regular season than last year when they limped into the playoffs at 9-7. Their offense is as explosive as it ever was. If they are going to return to the Super Bowl, they will have to play well on defense. I believe they will make the playoffs. They will also win their division. I don't think they will make it to the Super Bowl this season. They have a chance, but they will fall short.

Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys are tied for the lead in their division. They are on their way to a playoff berth if they can play well the rest of the way. I believe they will win their division. They will host a first round game.

Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles are tied for the lead in their division. I believe they will make the playoffs, but have to settle for a wild card birth. There is little room for error, however.

Packers

The Green Bay Packers sit in the sixth and final playoff spot. I think they will stay in this spot, and sneak into the playoffs. They will have to finish strong, but they will do it.

Giants

The Giants are in third place in their division. They will miss the playoffs this season. This could have been a strong season for them, but they made too many mistakes.

Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons are 6-6 so far this season. They have a very slim chance at making the playoffs. They will be sitting at home watching the playoffs this season.
