History
Pandora was started in 1982 by Per and Winnie Enevoldsen when they opened a small jewelry shop in Copenhagen that they ran as a couple. When their jewelry became wildly popular they decided to become a wholesale business. In 1984, they began to produce their products in a factory in Thailand. They hired jewelry designer Lone Frandsen to help create their unique jewelry line. In 1996, Pandora hired another designer, Lisbeth Enø Larsen, a goldsmith. Lisbeth and Lone worked together to invent the patented Pandora bracelet that took their company so far in the future.
Products
Pandora is most known for their unique charm bracelet. In 1999, pantented their design for the Danish market and it quickly caught on. The bracelets have a unique threading design that allow people to remove, rearrange, and add charms in whatever way they want. Pandora offers over 800 handcrafted charms in sterling silver, 14 K gold, and Murano glass. There are also spacers that can be bought to make the charms perfectly secured if need be. Pandora is known to also donate a small percentage of proceeds to Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the Institute for OneWorld Health.
Business Plan and Style
Pandora, like Apple with their iPods, has found a niche market thanks to their style and charisma. Charms range in price from $25 dollars to over $100 each and it take a great deal to fill a bracelet. Men like the Pandora charm system because it allows them to pick a charm for each holiday based either on a wishlist from their significant other or by their own fancy. With over 800 charms to choose from, the choices are nearly endless. Women enjoy the beauty of the elegant bracelets and the little joy of each new charm. The system allows for a constant stream of revenue from Pandora shopper because only specific charms will easily fit on the Pandora bracelets. This technique is not only brilliant for the company, but it also helps Pandora remain popular.
Pandora today has become a major provider of unique and innovative jewelry. They operate in 20 countries around the world and employ 1,200 individuals worldwide. Find out using the internet where the nearest shop is to you or use their online store to start taking a look at the jewelry of Pandora.

Aha! I've seen these in stores, now I know what the story is behind them!
Great example of a good business plan and super marketing! This is how a jewelry business should be. Much continued success to Pandora!

Nicely done, cheers :)
I was expecting an "Avatar" tie-in.
Good review of the Pandora jewelry line!
I knew the by sight, but not by name. To me, Pandora is the gal who opened a box she was told to keep shut!
