A Love Letter

To My Forever

Julie Sadie
My dearest Jack,

When I was a little girl, I would dream of a prince that would rescue me from my sad palace. I believed that there was a knight in shining armour for me. I believed in fairy tales. Growing up, I realized there's no such thing as that as I was exposed to life and love's painful truths. But still, I believed in love. I believed that someone is destined to love me. Somewhere out there, is someone for me to love.

When we met, there were no fireworks in the sky. No love at first sight. Nothing romantic that day. I just knew somehow you will be a part of my life. We became friends - the best of friends. My heart's prayer then was "Lord, let my heart beat only for the man You have chosen for me". And He did just that. He made my heart beat only for you...

And so I thank God that I have you for my husband. Until now, I am still amazed by how you are able to love me as I am, with flaws and weaknesses. I know I am not the "ideal" wife, yet, you love me like I am one. I had so many shortcomings, yet, you never made me feel insufficient or inadequate.

I thank God that you are the father of my children. I am in awe by how much you adore the kids. Despite your heavy loads at work and the ministry you have in the church, you always find the time to bond with them. My heart overflows with joy that my children have a loving and God-fearing father - something I didn't have.

I thank God that you provide well for the family. I know you work hard to give us a good life,... the children to have the best education. Please know that I am blessed that you gave me this opportunity to take care of you, the kids and the household by being a stay-at-home mom.

I thank God that you are my best friend. That I can share with you my deepest thoughts and dreams without fear of being judged. That I can laugh my heart out and do not fear of being criticized.

I am thankful that I can do the things I love with you. We both love watching good movies (and critic them afterwards). We both enjoy spending time with friends. I appreciate how you love and care for my friends as I do. We both like reading books, drinking coffee, malling... I could go on with the list, bottom line, all the things I do is better spent with you.

Looking back in my childhood, I realized my dream came true. You are my prince, my knight in shining armour. You took me away from my sad palace and bring me to a castle full of bliss.

As we celebrate our seven years together, I want to let you know that I love you more today than I have ever loved you before. And it just keeps getting better and better. Thank you for the joy you bring into my life. Thank you for your humor that always make my day. Thank you for the wonderful seven years filled with happiness, and at times, pains. I am looking forward spending seventy-seven more years with you... You are my forever.

Julie
