A Love Letter to Stephen Hawking

April Fox
i like you
with your concrete thoughts
and manufactured voice
and the way you take things that normal people think are
incomprehensible
and make them look like
logic.

i like you
because you are the opposite of me.

inside everything works
atoms strung like precious stones
on a fine gold chain
drops of water
on a spiderweb
stronger than steel
in the sun.

outside-
we know what the outside is.

and i am
fractured
trapped inside the body
of a doll
blown up
carbon fiber nobody even tries
to see through
i am
lead.

dear stephen hawking,
i love your mind
but i hate you
for who i am
outside my skin.

    *WOW*!!! You are deliciously complex! And I completely share your envy and admiration of Stephen Hawking! He is probably one of the 10 greatest minds of modern (in the evolutionary sense) humanity. I'll let you guess which 10 I'm gushing over. ;)
