A Love Poem: I Would Wait for You

H. Kris Thomas
See this look
This sad mouth
These sad eyes?
I want to be in your life, Dear

And you've got my heart in the palm of your hand
Your name repeated in my mind
I am so stuck

It's not your fault
That you pass through my mind
Return and remain
I am far from tired of my thoughts of you
Because there's a pull about you
I want to know the outside of you
As much as the inside of you
I feel this

And I hear your voice
I love your words
Because you tell me what i need to hear
Narrating my life
My name wedged between your clenched teeth
My name sewn into the air caught in your soft fist

I've felt this
How you waver, but know that
I will always wait
With more than love
In my heart
I feel it in my hands
In my feet
Stuck between us

I will wait for tomorrow
For us to move forward
For our lives to move on
Beyond tracing the edge friendship
And sinking our toes in the swamps of love
I will wait for tomorrow
I would wait all my life for you

Wow, Heather...your timing on this is eerie for me. Making some hard decisions right now, and this piece hit home HARD. Thank you :-) *wiping a tear away right now*

Ohhh, that's so romantic. I've felt like I would wait my entire life for someone before. This was verrry good.
