A Maiden's Requiem

Lisa Stanley

None shall mourn the loss like thee,

A fair and softly maiden she,

Walked upon the pebbled stones

And fell into the waters 'lone.

None shall seek to find her there,

Will walk on by without a care,

She fell upon the river blue,

Took a breath and carried through.

None shall know her smile bright,

Never more thro' day and night,

Never know her next tomorrow,

That sacrificed from pain and sorrow.

None shall mourn the loss like I,

The fairest maiden left to die,

The night grew dim and waters take,

The maiden's life that tears doth break.

In each of us there lies hidden beauty. A beautiful but sad poem; if only people could see the beauty that lies within. Good Job, Ken
