A Matter of Kindness on Behalf of Magnolia Chasen

Peter Griffin
In a matter of fairness on behalf of Magnolia Chasen

I woke up from my restless slumber

Walked to my bathroom mirror.

That tired, weak, expression in my eyes

A question came to me.

Is it fair?

Is it fair to lay in bed, night after night,

Speaking softly, drifting off, and whispering

"I love you" to my empty bed?

Is it fair to watch my walls at night,

Begging some unknown force for one more chance?

Is it fair to tell you that I now believe in true love, thanks to you?

Is it fair to say these things?

The sleepless mornings, the pain ridden days and lonely nights

Before I drop myself to sleep and dream of being with you.

But is it fair to burden you with truth

Or should I live in the lie?

The truth is nothing fills the void

If the truth is unrequited love

I only ask in matters of fairness on behalf of Magnolia Chasen.
