A Memorable Birthday Party for My Son

Throughout my parenting days, celebrating birthdays is something we really look forward to. My kids are seven and five and I have had a chance to experience a lot of birthdays with each of them. But when it comes to the most memorable party of all, that's an easy choice. We hired a magician for my son's 7th birthday. We had the magician come to our house and perform a show in our backyard. Although the weather was looking scary and rain was being forecast at the precise time the party was supposed to start, everything came off without a hitch.

My son was so excited for this party that he actually had me buy him his own magician costume, so I ordered for him a cape and gloves. All my son could talk about in the weeks leading up to the party was being able to assist the magician during his act. Well, the day finally came for the party and we were not disappointed. The magician made my son the star of the show. He was up on stage with the magician the entire time, in his full magician outfit, assisting with most of the tricks. The smile on my son's face was the biggest I'd ever seen. And just when we thought things couldn't get any better, the magician, for his final trick, actually suspended my child in midair! It was awesome. My son could not stop talking about this party for weeks and how this was his best birthday ever. Now, this was a day that made motherhood all worth it.
