I parked my car in one of the handicapped spaces and took hold of an empty shopping cart that was left in front of the space where I parked my car. I got out of the car, held on to the cart and walked into Publix in hopes of exchanging this cart for one that was electric and I could sit in. No such luck! They were all taken so I would have to walk and shop. But I was in pain. I could use a miracle to happen at the time.
With two hands holding the handle of the shopping cart I entered Publix alongside a man and woman who might have been a few inches away from me. I told him my tale of woe - that I need the electric cart but there were none left for me. I also told him I have no trouble walking, it's my back that hurts and not my feet. He smiled and looked at his wife and they seemed to be talking with their eyes. Were they talking about making a miracle happen? Do you think?
We talked a little more and then he asked where the pain was? I told him my lower back hurts not only when I walk, but when I stand too long as well.
Once again he looked at his wife and she seemed to nod at him. It was then that he asked if I would mind if he healed my back by touching the spot and talking to Jesus? I held back a smile, shrugged my shoulders and said "why not". "I do not care how it happens as long as the pain goes away". That is when his wife came a bit closer to me and asked me to tell her the exact spot of my pain.
You have to remember I was only standing a few feet inside of the front door of Publix. I brought this fact to his wife's attention, and she said to me ,"so what". Then she took the palm of her hand and very lightly touched the area of my back with her open palm. At the same time he was praying to Jesus, at times in an angry voice, telling Him to take the pain away from my back. She asked for a miracle to happen. Do you think it did?
A few minutes later he stopped talking, she removed her hand, and we continued our chit chat. I asked there where they lived and they said that they were visiting Florida and lived in Ohio.
He mentioned that they were born again Christians. She reached her arm out to me and showed me the bracelet she wore with the words inscribed, "I am a Believer". At that very moment I could not help but notice an electric shopping cart had miraculously appeared. He walked to where it stood and brought it over to me to use.
We said our goodbyes that included a little hug. I sat down into the electric cart and did my shopping.
I went home and as I began to put my groceries away I realized that I was standing without having the usual pain. I tried to put it out of my mind. I did not want to put a hex on it. This happened on Tuesday. Today is Friday and still I have not had back pain. The miracle had happened. I cancelled my chiropractic appointment, I did not want to do anything that might bring back the pain.
I have not a clue what happened Wednesday when I walked into Publix to shop. All I know is I entered in pain, and I walked out pain-free at least up until today. Do you believe in miracles? Do you think a miracle had happened? Please let me know.
