A Month with Pantene Color Hair Solutions

Hair Care and Other Uses

Casey L. Holley
I have been using my Pantene Color Hair Solutions products for a little over a month now. Since my family uses the products, too, I have already purchased another bottle of the shampoo. Even with all five of us using the products, I still have plenty of conditioner and weekly treatment for myself.

I have gotten numerous compliments about my hair from people at church. One lady thought that I had gotten my hair cut, styled and professionally dyed before services. I laughed and told her I did the same thing as always, but now I use the Pantene Color Hair Solutions products.

In this past month, I have experimented with the products to determine how to make them work the best for me. I have come to the conclusion that as long as I use the products, I will enjoy easier to manage, shinier and silkier hair. I have also discovered some other ways to enjoy these products. Here are some of the things I learned.

When to Use Pantene Products

I have learned that when I have a night out or a day when my hair needs to be as close to perfectly styled as possible, that I can't use the Pantene products for at least 24 hours, preferably 48 hours, before I will fix my hair. The reason for this is that the Pantene shampoo and conditioner (and even the shampoo by itself) makes my hair too soft to style. I don't consider that a real problem, since I love my hair to be silky smooth on regular days when I only brush it out.

I also use Pantene products just before I go to bed. I don't blow dry my hair on most days, so it is usually slightly damp when I crawl into bed. A nice side effect of this is that my pillow case now smells like the Pantene, which has a very clean scent.

Clean the Bathtub

I am sure that the makers of Pantene didn't count on their product being considered a cleaning product, but I accidentally discovered that it can be used to clean the bathtub. I usually use foaming bathroom cleaner, but I ran out and needed to clean the tub out after giving a bath to two toddlers who had been to the beach. I figured that Pantene shampoo was a soap-like product, so it should work. I squirted a little on a damp towel and started to wipe the tub, expecting to just clean most of the dirt and sand out of the tub. However, as I started wiping, I noticed that the shampoo removed all of the soap scum and the dirt ring that formed while I was bathing the boys. The performance was similar to using baby shampoo, and the whole bathroom smelled wonderful afterward.

Shaving

I use a mixture of equal parts Pantene shampoo and conditioner to shave my legs. I can't use shaving gel, because it irritates my skin, but I haven't had any problems at all using this mixture to shave.

Conclusion

Pantene Color Hair Solutions products are great as hair care products, but they are also versatile and can be used for many other things.
