A Morning Bridge

What I Wished

Dan Reveal
Please don't shy away from the awesome pain
that lets you find your place in others' lives.
Just pour me from the simple of the chastity rain,
for I am the single step by which your life survives.

I think you could love me anyway,
though I am hardly the most perfect one.
Just paint your soul in your most childlike day,
and it will smile back once you decide that you are done.

Just paint your soul in your most childlike day,
and it will smile back once you decide that you are done.

And what I wished for long ago,
still has a way of coming true.
A morning bridge is the way to know
that what I wished was found in you.

And what I wished for long ago,
still has a way of coming true.
A morning bridge is the way to know
that what I wished was found in you.
