A Mother's Day Poem Dedicated to All Mothers

Shells W
A peaceful road trip with the family is what I desire.

The families who can do this I do admire.

Taking my family to even the store,

is chaos and certainly not a bore.

One child can go from here to there,

another child throws some fruit without a care.

My husband stands and looks distraught,

as another lesson in fruit tossing is taught.

Than there comes the checking out,

where children cry and parents pout.

I try and get things paid,

as my husband waits for the children like some kind of police raid.

Our hands become tied as we look towards the car.

We sit and think, this isn't too bad it's not that far.

We struggle with getting the kids strapped in

and we think, "hey we win."

We have not thought yet about the ride in the car.

Once again we think, this isn't too bad it's not that far.

Than we look in back,

where throwing skills don't seem to lack.

Toys tossed around,

husband and me don't make a sound.

We just turn around and try to grab a toy,

if we get one it's such a joy.

If a toy is not got,

a bathroom break is forgot.

And off we go to find a place,

to start to go on the bathroom race.

After all is said and done,

we mistakenly thought again we had won.

How wrong we were,

because that thought was just a blur.

We drive on our way to get to another store,

husband looks at me pleading no more.

Though the errands must be done,

at least the kids are having fun.

In all the glory that has been said,

this is dedicated to all mothers who read.

A Mother's Day poem is for you,

and for all those "Family outings" too.
