Mustard Seed bills itself as N.E. Ohio's largest locally owned natural & organic foods market and restaurant. It is a treasure trove of organic produce and packaged foods, supplements, and books. Travel upstairs and you are treated to Chef Keith Jones' culinary creations.
Made with organic and natural ingredients, the food at the Mustard Seed Cafe is always worth a visit. Any Sunday brunch will have you tempted to over-indulge, but for the Mother's Day brunch, they go all out. There are always traditional breakfast items like scrambled eggs, nitrate-free bacon, sausage, and pastries. They also include delights like Creme Brulee French Toast, and a made to order omelet station.
There is a small salad station with fresh mixed greens and toppings like cucumbers, tomatoes, and fresh croutons with a variety of dressings. Be sure to try their house tahini dressing.
There lunch menu has a variety of items that change each year. It typically includes items like Chicken Marsala, Fried Ravioli, Seafood Neuberg, and Steamed Salmon. There is also a carving station where you can get Roasted Pork Loin and Prime Rib. The lunch buffet also has side dishes like rice, red skin potatoes, and roasted vegetables.
To finish it off, a trip to the dessert table is always a treat. Cheesecake with fruit topping, carrot cake, chocolate cake, fruit pie, and much more, make a sweet ending to a delicious meal.
If you like coffee, their organic house blend is worth trying. They also have quite a few specialty beverages and smoothies to choose from.
I highly recommend giving Mustard Seed a call and making your reservations for their Mother's Day Brunch (Montrose: 330-666-7333, Solon: 440-519-3600). They will accept walk-ins for other Sunday's, but the Mother's Day Brunch is reservations only, and for good reason. It has become so popular that it sells out fast, with very few cancellations.
If you live in N. E. Ohio, treat the mother in your family like a queen, show her how much you appreciate her, and take her to the Mustard Seed Market & Cafes Mother's Day Brunch.
