For all too long he had watched her. When she walked, her body was like wheat blowing in the wind. His mind and body felt as though they'd explode when he saw her approaching or leaving.
He listened to her heavy breaths and relished these twenty minutes even more. He could feel her breasts flattened against his weight and strength. Yes, he was the one causing that fevered breathing. It was him and his efforts that made this woman act animal like in this fashion. His eyes opened for a second and they glistened at the sight of the woman's amber brown skin, the soft tendrils of black hair that streamed down her back.
He released the grip for just a second and felt her move as though she thought this signaled her release. He sunk his vice grip into her neck again. But this time he cast the net of his lips a little wider and sucked a little harder. He would let her know he was in control of this situation.
He heard her utter a soft grunt. He enjoyed the sound of her voice. Her singing made his brain fry with exhilaration. To listen to her speak was like being at the side of a gurgling brook. And now, to hear her voice in these muted grunts and stifled protests was more than he could bear. His manhood swelled and his juices spilled into her for a fifth time. He thrust himself harder, deeper, repeatedly. He was wild and blind with his savagery, so consummate was his victory. He arched his back to get a better angle and drove home again and again, each time with more force.
Just to be certain she understood their positions, he loosened the vice grip on her neck only to immediately take in more area in a tighter lock and suck until it felt her skin was reaching down his throat. "She's mine!" he thought with glee, "She's mine!" His blood percolated.
This was better than steak. This was better than prime rib. This was the Unreachable Mimi. It didn't matter what device he'd used; this was his prize. He closed his eyes again and continued to savor her moist, tender warmth.
At first she had fought. He was surprised at her strength, especially for how small she was. And she fought valiantly. She flailed. She pushed. She scratched. Oh how he'd loved the scratching. She hit. She spit insults. She struggled. She struggled mightily. But by that time Jim's lip vice was covering half of her beautiful brown neck and his weight was pressing her against the door so that it was becoming next to impossible for her to move.
What a coup that her three-year-old was on the other side of the door, knocking, pleading with Mommy to tell whether she was on the other side of the door and please open it. He knew with that ally, Mimi would never cry out. She was his! She was completely his for as much as he wanted and for as long as he wanted. She was his.
He'd won his trophy. Mimi was his!
* * *
It was some 25 years since the incident with Jim. Yet in the year that Mimi had worked for Mark, each passing day began to feel as though she was re-living that experience. She looked her employer squarely in the eye as he flailed in his weak explanation. He still could not justify giving her a raise. Mark waved his outstretched hands in the air.
"Yes, Mimi, I know you've been here nine months. I know when I hired you I promised we'd review you salary within 90 days. I know that a person with your talents, education and experience could easily be earning more than $45 an hour compared with the $10 I'm paying you. But the income simply isn't there. What am I to do?"
Her icy silence made him uncomfortable. Little did he realize her mind was full of answers he didn't want to hear. One of them was, Try putting the commissions you're earning into the firm's bank account instead of into your personal one. Placements are made on behalf of the firm because of your efforts. You're robbing the firm in order to shut it down. You're robbing the firm in order to compete with your brother-in-law.
And there was one persistent thought, You're a fool, Mark. You're a certifiable fool. I wouldn't trust you to take a bag of dog poop to the trash.
Mark hoped his argument was gaining him some ground. He thought he'd better push a little harder just to gain a little better grip on the situation.
"Now look, Mimi. We both know when you came here your employment history had a long gap in it. Haven't I shown you how much I appreciate your being with me? Just look at the considerations I've given you. Not every employer will help their secretaries with personal, domestic issues. Look here, I've gotten my family involved in helping you on that matter. And besides that, I've acknowledged my appreciation of you. Just look at the job title changes you've collected in this time."
Mark scanned the woman standing before him. It was so hard to read her. Even when she was angry she didn't let it show a lot. She always seemed to have a bit of a Mona Lisa smile on her face. But right now it seemed as though her eyes had narrowed to slits, like a tiger's.
Still, it was good to think she was buying into this again. His mouth started to water as he thought about the refinancing deal he'd gotten that would tide him and his family over for the next seven years ... as long as he kept those other costs under control, wages and salaries. He savored the knowledge and relished the thought that a woman her age and with so much time between this and her last formal employment would have to stay with him and take whatever she got.
"Mark. I want you to understand something," Mimi started. "I know about the refinancing. I know how much you got and how much you can afford. I know that you've scuttled each and every deal I've set up for you. And I know that as long as you keep doing all of these things and envision belittling my performance here, you think you'll have perpetual control over me."
Mimi stopped for a second to take in the look on Mark's stupid face, then plunged back into her speech.
"Mark. The clients are very much aware of the amount of work I do here. They are acutely aware of how I am the one who single-handedly keeps things on track even when you lamely try to scuttle them. In fact, several of them are monitoring the firm now. They're waiting to hear that the job title changes are more than just ceremonial. In fact, Mark, they've been keeping me abreast of your interviewing other people to replace me - at a higher salary. And they seem to have a way to include some snippet of how miserably in the dark you are."
Mimi saw a slight shift of weight as Mark's face darkened and the sun shone through the window onto the back of the chair where he sat. It was as though he was being blotted out.
"In fact, Mark, one of the clients I've been trying to court for you is very closely associated with the EEOC. I don't have to file a claim about the disparate treatment I receive here and I don't have to file a grievance about the harassment. The evidence is already there. They're simply waiting for you to let go of your ways."
Mimi turned to exit the office, then looked over her shoulder and said, "By the way, Mark, I'm going to start leaving on time now. Oh yes, and I'll be taking that three-week vacation we talked about starting tomorrow. As for the passwords and the whereabouts of the files, I'm the only one who knows them, Mark. And I won't be where phones work."
Mimi closed her eyes as she walked out of the door. Her mouth watered with the satisfaction of knowing exactly where all of the critical information was stored and that the investigation would commence at 8 AM the next day.
